ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Commerce was established in the year 1989. The department has a well-qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty. At present there are 3 teaching faculty. The Department has spacious separate staff room and a departmental library with a good collection of books. The Department has implemented CBCS (Choice based credit system) scheme for V & VI Semester and NEP scheme from 2021-22 for I to IV semester, as per UGC regulations. Department is involved in extension activities. Our students have been placed in various sectors.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

In the present day word, especially in the light of Economic Liberalization, which led to open / free market policy for the Corporate sector, there is demand of specialized and professional personnel in the decision – making process, keeping in view the prevailing strategic parameters, in the degree programme has been tuned with the following objectives.
  • Students develop critical thinking skill which helps them to be creative in the economics field.
  • To provide opportunities to the students of different discipline to join the programme to be well acquainted with the managerial capabilities in their carriers.
  • To develop special competency among the economics students to meet and handle the changing scenario in the field of industry and trade as well as ever increasing service sectors.
  • To make the students well equipped with the broad spectrum of knowledge of Economics.
